These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of GuardLayer (the "Service"), operated by Solvion Solutions ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
GuardLayer performs automated static security analysis of source code you submit or connect, and returns findings and suggested fixes. When you install our GitHub App and choose repositories to watch, we automatically scan changes on each push and pull request, report results as commit checks and pull-request comments, and — based on the policy you choose — can mark a check as failed. The Service is an aid, not a guarantee: it does not detect every vulnerability and is not a substitute for professional security review, testing, or your own judgment. You remain solely responsible for the security of your applications.
2. Accounts & Eligibility
Some features require an account. You can sign in with GitHub, with Google, or with a one-time email link. You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).
3. Acceptable Use
- Only submit or connect code you own or are authorized to analyze.
- Do not abuse, overload, rate-limit-evade, reverse engineer, or attempt to disrupt the Service.
- Do not use the Service to build a competing product or to scan code for unlawful purposes.
4. GitHub App & Authorizations
Installing our GitHub App grants it read access to the repositories you select (to read your code for scanning) and permission to write commit checks and pull-request comments on them. You can change which repositories are selected, or uninstall the App from GitHub, at any time — uninstalling stops further scanning. You are responsible for ensuring you are authorized to install the App on the relevant account or organization.
5. Your Code & Content
You retain all ownership of code and content you submit or connect. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process it solely to provide the Service (run scans, generate reports, post checks and comments, and, where available, produce AI-assisted explanations). We do not claim ownership of your code, we do not store your raw source code, and we do not use it to train models. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled and retained.
6. Teams
Paid plans may let you invite teammates, who receive read-only access to the connected repositories and reports of the account that invited them. The account owner is responsible for who they invite and for their team's use of the Service.
7. Subscriptions & Billing
- GuardLayer offers a free tier and paid plans (such as Minimum and Studio). Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring (monthly or annual) basis through our payment processor (Stripe) and renew automatically until cancelled.
- You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
- We may change prices with reasonable advance notice; changes apply to the next billing period.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, rule set, branding, and content (excluding your code), is owned by Solvion Solutions and protected by applicable laws. These Terms grant you no rights to our marks.
9. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third parties — including GitHub, Stripe, Amazon SES, Anthropic, and (if you connect it) Slack — and runs on infrastructure providers such as Supabase and Vercel. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL DETECT ALL VULNERABILITIES, BE ERROR-FREE, OR THAT YOUR APPLICATIONS WILL BE SECURE.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Solvion Solutions WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY SECURITY BREACH OF YOUR APPLICATIONS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
